Hello
I'm Timothy, the Founder and Artistic Director of FaceNoise. I have had the privilege of singing professionally in lots of different kinds of choirs, and know how good it is for you. Group singing is disappearing in the UK, and FaceNoise is the experimental choir set on researching and challenging the issues leading to this decline.
My Story
Hi, I'm Timothy Peters—a tenor, conductor, and composer. Over the years, I’ve been fortunate to sing as a member of the Chapels Royal choir at HM Tower of London and work as a session singer across the UK. I’ve had the incredible opportunity to perform as a soloist on BBC Radio 4 and BBC Radio 6, and with some fantastic ensembles like the San Francisco Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra, London Concert Orchestra and Northern Ballet Sinfonia.
In 2023, I took on the role of Music Director for Horsham Chamber Choir, which has been a rewarding experience. I’m also proud to be part of the music staff for the National Youth Choirs of Great Britain, helping young voices find their sound. Up until my move back up north, I taught at a couple of schools in Surrey, working with students on everything from singing to composition, and even DJ performance, which kept things exciting!
On this website you can find my blog page, where you can find out more about my approach to all things Music. Briefly, I have found that group singing culture is rapidly declining in the UK and FaceNoise is the experimental platform through which I hope to address the issues I am finding in my research. All the while, the singers' experience will be at the heart of everything we do.
I feel lucky to work with so many talented musicians and to share my love for music, whether it's through teaching, conducting, or performing. It’s always been about learning, growing, and helping others do the same.
